The idea behind the Business Hub!

The Confucius Institute at the University of Graz is pursuing various goals with the China Business Hub:

1. To make the University of Graz more visible internationally
   • As part of the University of Graz, which advocates internationalization, the Confucius Institute would like to support international networking and partnership-based cooperation. Since sustainable internationalization can only succeed through exchange and cooperation, the Institute's own focus area "Business" is to be expanded and support the internationalization strategy of the University of Graz. This should increase the visibility of the University of Graz in China.

1. Strengthening Graz/Styria as a knowledge and business location
   • Fundamental exchange between China and Austria strengthens (economic) relations in the long term. The Confucius Institute should form the basis for future cooperation in order to provide young entrepreneurs with a springboard to China. Strengthened relations mean a strong business location Graz/Styria.

1. Supporting start-ups
   • For young entrepreneurs, the road to the Far East can sometimes be rocky. This is because the Chinese market differs significantly from the European market in many respects, which is why expertise and advice are required. The Confucius Institute provides this country-specific knowledge and offers individually tailored and industry-specific support.

1. Initiating research projects between China and Austria/EU
   • At the same time, the hub also creates an exploratory basis not only for economic transactions, but also for scientific projects. In terms of joint research, there is also a need for a suitable partner who knows both sides and sharpens and strengthens mutual understanding.
